However, Hyderabad is beginning to change this as more individuals prepare to pedal if provided with a safe setting. Healthway is a first-of-its-kind sustainable solar roof cycling track close to Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad. The good news is that the track is nearing its completion!

The sustainable solar roof cycling track that is located adjacent to Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road is in the last phases of development, according to Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department. The official assessed the project on Friday. In a social media post, he revealed that the bicycle track project is almost finished and just requires a few final touches.
This includes track colouring, the installation of lighting fixtures, the synchronisation of the power system, and the positioning of safety signs, particularly at crossings. He further stated that these tasks should be finished within the next two weeks. Lighting is being built, which will make nighttime cycling more enjoyable. Along the route, there will also be KM signs too. In fact, the project is on track and will open in the first week of September.

The civil work on the 21-kilometre cycling path around the Outer Ring Road (ORR) is nearly complete, according to the Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD). Projects involving landscaping and adding plants to the cycling track are now being worked on by the MA&UD staff. In the following 10 days, he noted, construction on the cycling track’s solar rooftop panels is planned to start.
Along the three-lane cycling track, the 30,000 solar panels will not only be lit with warm golden tube lights but also produce power to feed back into the grid. The police department monitors about 50 CCTV cameras at entry and departure locations.

Besides, V-shaped SS steel columns defend the path and GI roofing sheets with an anodized coating that is acquired from a plant in Ahmedabad.
