Travellers may easily obtain mobile data and save a lot of money with this innovative approach. An eSIM, or electronic SIM card, is a digital SIM that lets users subscribe to internet and data packages. All of this without having to switch out physical SIM cards. It also offers the ability to customise plans based on regions or countries. For devices that are compatible, using Sensorise Travel eSIM only requires scanning a QR code to enable quick connectivity. This data package will have the broadest coverage of any data plan offered globally, with over 190 countries to choose from.

Apple introduced its ‘eSIM only’ iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models to the US last year. These are some of the earliest smartphones with eSIM-only capabilities. Motorola debuted eSIM-only phones even earlier with the Razr flip phone, which was the company’s first model.

Difference In The Design:

Traditionally, a SIM card is an integrated circuit that is physically put into a device on a universal integrated circuit card (UICC). The eSIM, on the other hand, is a virtualized SIM card profile that is factory-installed onto an eUICC chip that is permanently surface-mounted on a mobile device.

Specifications:

The GSMA developed the eSIM global specification, which allows any mobile device to be remotely provisioned with a SIM card. It is the SIM for the upcoming generation of linked consumer electronics.
