India’s First eSIM Has Launched!
India’s sole consumer travel eSIM has been announced by M2M service provider Sensorise. This eSIM offers a reasonably priced substitute for conventional telecom international roaming options and is aimed at business, leisure, and student travellers. Through the Sensorise smartphone app, this eSIM will be accessible in more than 190 countries.
With the Sensorise Travel eSIM, you can say goodbye to expensive operator roaming fees, bulky physical SIM cards, and the headache of looking for free public WiFi when travelling abroad. Travellers may easily obtain mobile data and save a lot of money with this innovative approach. The goal of the Sensorise travel eSIM is to give users access to an integrated system that guarantees data privacy and identity protection, while also offering a wide range of capabilities for monitoring, regulating, safeguarding, and improving their digital lives.
According to Karn Nagpal, President, of Rosmerta Technologies, they are delighted to present their eSIM solution at Asia’s largest telecom event, the India Mobile Congress 2023. For Indians, this breakthrough signifies a major advancement in global travel connectivity. The solution demonstrates not only their expertise in technology but also their dedication to developing products that improve and simplify people’s lives. In the future, they see seamless connectivity as an essential component of every traveller’s experience.
Benefits Of This Advanced Technology
An eSIM, or electronic SIM card, is a digital SIM that lets users subscribe to internet and data packages. All of this without having to switch out physical SIM cards. It also offers the ability to customise plans based on regions or countries. For devices that are compatible, using Sensorise Travel eSIM only requires scanning a QR code to enable quick connectivity. This data package will have the broadest coverage of any data plan offered globally, with over 190 countries to choose from.
Apple introduced its ‘eSIM only’ iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models to the US last year. These are some of the earliest smartphones with eSIM-only capabilities. Motorola debuted eSIM-only phones even earlier with the Razr flip phone, which was the company’s first model.
Difference In The Design:
Traditionally, a SIM card is an integrated circuit that is physically put into a device on a universal integrated circuit card (UICC). The eSIM, on the other hand, is a virtualized SIM card profile that is factory-installed onto an eUICC chip that is permanently surface-mounted on a mobile device.
The GSMA developed the eSIM global specification, which allows any mobile device to be remotely provisioned with a SIM card. It is the SIM for the upcoming generation of linked consumer electronics.
The eSIM-based networking solutions are broadly applicable to many Internet of Things (IoT) scenarios.
