Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about Kapil Sharma and his brand new show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. Every Saturday, a new episode premieres on Netflix. But now let’s talk about his time on our Tere Gully Mein episode with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani. What Was Kapil Sharma’s First Job?
For our first food spot, we began with the popular A-One Kulfa, a spot known for its authentic Amritsari kulchas and lassis. In conversations, Kapil opened up about his first job in the PCO (Public Call Office) booth which was near A-One Kulfa. He even disclosed his first paycheck and it was ₹500 per month.
His working hours at the booth were from 10 PM to 1 AM and then again from 5 AM to 7 AM. During those hours, the international calling rates were reduced to half and many Indians who moved abroad would engage in calls with their family at odd hours. Kapil was not a full-time employee here because he was used to doing jobs with fewer working hours. This was due to his urge to earn quick money during his childhood days.

This Is Why Dharmendra Ji Is Very Dear To Him
Comedy Circus was an Indian comedy show on Sony Entertainment Television where Kapil Sharma used to perform. Dharmendra had the pleasure of witnessing Kapil do his comic skits live and enjoyed it thoroughly. Kapil disclosed that one of the most memorable episodes of a show he hosted and produced was where Dharmendra was the first guest.
How did this unfold? Well, he was kind enough to share with us an incident where he met Dharmendra on a flight to Canada and requested him to be the first celebrity guest on his show then and there. Upon hearing this request, Dharmendra Ji instantly agreed.
