On Independence Day 2020,  Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the government will develop Ram Van Gaman Path and Ramayan Circuit in the state to promote tourism. As per the proposal, the circuit will be built from Chitrakoot to Amarkantak. The scheme aims at recreating the path that is believed to have been taken by Lord Ram on his way to the exile. Madhya Pradesh had also bagged a spot among top three best-valued destinations of the world.

The Ramayan Circuit Project Will Generate Employment As Well: MP CM

After the flag hoisting ceremony at Bhopal’s Motilal Nehru Stadium, Chouhan said, “We will develop Ram Gaman Path, Ramayan Circuit, Amarkantak Circuit, Tirthankar Circuit, Maa Narmada Parikrama, etc, so that tourism activities can be developed in the state. This will also generate employment,” He added, “River Narmada is the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh. Narmada Expressway will be developed in the areas along this river. Industrial clusters will also be developed along the route to make the state prosperous.”

Chauhan has notified about the development of Chambal Progress Way too along with the Ramayan Circuit project.

Statue Of Bharat Mata Unveiled At Museum In Bhopal

Chouhan has also unveiled a 25-feet long bronze statue of Bharat Mata at the war museum in Bhopal, Shaurya Smarak, on the occasion of 74th Independence Day. The statue has the national anthem and Ashok Chakra engraved on it. As per PTI reports, referring to the statue, the CM has said, “Several people including Sarsanghchalak (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat, who had come to pay tribute to the brave soldiers at Shaurya Smarak, felt that there should be a statue of Bharat Mata here. This dream came true today.”
