New Expressway Will Reduce Travel Time From Ghaziabad To Kanpur To 3 Hours

If you travel on the Yamuna Expressway between Ghaziabad and Kanpur, a drive will mostly take about 6 hours. But the good news is now the time taken to travel between these two cities will soon be cut down to 3 hours. The Centre has approved the Greenfield Economic Corridor, a new expressway that will be connecting the two industrial hubs of Ghaziabad and Kanpur.

A Corridor Passing Through 9 Districts

The 380km Greenfield Economic Corridor is expected to cut down time travel between Ghaziabad and Kanpur to 3 hours and is expected to be complete by 2025. The highway will be four-lane wide but there are plans to develop it into eight lanes. The corridor will be passing through 9 districts namely Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Farukkabad, Kannauj, Unnao and Kanpur.

Expected To Be Complete By 2025

An official from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said that currently a survey is being conducted for the identifying land. The work on the Detailed Project Report too has started and would nearly take a year. The land acquisition might take place by 2023 and the Corridor will take about another 2 years to complete which is by 2025.

A Boon For Industries

Initially, the four-lane wide corridor will be expanded to six culverts and underpasses. Later it will be expanded to eight and for that land will be set aside. The Corridor between the two industrial hubs will be beneficial for the industries as it will save both times and cost to travel.
