The Film Federation of India is finally ready with its selection of the official entry for Oscar 2022. The name of the movie was revealed through an announcement on Tuesday, and it’s none other than the heart-touching Gujarati film ‘Chhello Show’ (The Last Film Show).
A Pan Nalin directorial, Chhello Show is the story of a nine-year-old boy pursuing his dreams in cinema.
The film is set in the western region of Gujarat and was shot in some of its most beautiful districts and cities. Here’s what we know of them!
Gir Somnath
The Oscar 2022 nominated Gujarati film Chhello Show was shot in one of the most beautiful districts in Gujarat. Yes, it’s Gir Somnath. Located on the southern corner of the Kathiawar peninsula, Gir Somnath has its headquarters at the City Of Somnath. Gir Somnath is also home to the famous Gir Forest where Asiatic Lions can be found. The place has an abundance of natural beauty. No doubt the team of Chhello Show chose the district as one of their filming locations.
Junagadh
This city in Gujarat is famous for its many architectural beauties. From Mahabat Maqbara, the huge 19th-century mausoleum of a local ruler, to Uparkot Fort, founded around 300 BC, Junagadh is a melange of history and mystery. The city views, its many stone-cut forts, and the Buddhist caves are all so breathtaking! The city totally makes for a great filming location and to watch it on the big screen in the Oscar-nominated Chhello Show is a special feeling.

Amreli
It’s probably the scenic beauty of Amreli that made the team of the Oscar-nominated Chhello Show choose the place as one of their filming locations. Amreli district is one of the 33 administrative districts of Gujarat with its headquarters at Amreli. Amreli covers the famous Dhari Gir National forest sanctuary area and is a Hub of Education in Gujarat. Some of the most popular places of interest in the Amreli district are Nagnath Temple, Gayatri Temple, and Shreenathji Haveli.
Rajkot
Famous for its silk work and gold jewelry, Rajkot in Gujarat is a hub of culture and tradition. It would be interesting to watch the beauty of Rajkot in the Oscar-nominated Chhello Show. With its Gujarati literature, many Museums, paintings, and artifacts from British rule, and the Kaba Gandhi No Delo, the house where Mahatma Gandhi spent part of his childhood, Rajkot is one of the most glorious cities in India.
