Palash Sen Doesn’t Charge Any Money To His Patients

The iconic lead singer of the legendary band Euphoria, Palash Sen, is also a doctor. Not only that but his entire family history is tied to medicine and doctors. He studied medicine because that’s what he saw all around him and the idea of helping people in need appealed to him. However, he decided to pursue music because that’s where he felt his true passion lay.

If you thought that Palash Sen traded his stethoscope for a microphone and a guitar for good, think again. While driving around some of the nostalgic places in Delhi, he revealed to us that he still practices medicine. He still has a dispensary where he regularly treats patients. What is more, he doesn’t charge his patients any money and treats them for free.

He also has a good reason for doing this. He says that since he was young, he has observed his family doing seva for others. So much so, that the idea of medicine, at least in his family, was married to the idea of taking care of other people and serving others.

He also told us that the extent to which the field of medicine is commercialised today has taken him by surprise. He never expected the field to get so money-hungry. For him, medicine has always been about seva and taking care of others. As such, he refuses to take money from the patients he treats.
