Pune Airport is all ready for a major development as its new terminal building is going to be inaugurated in just a few days. This event is here to mark a massive enhancement for the operations at the airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate it soon. PM Modi To Unveil The New Terminal Building Of Pune Airport

Taking to the X platform, Dr Sudhir Mehta (@sudhirmehtapune) shared a picture of the new terminal.

According to several reports, the Prime Minister is going to inaugurate the brand-new terminal building on March 10. Along with this establishment, he is slated to virtually unveil a few more airports in different parts of India. The inauguration event on that day includes PM Modi unveiling airports in Gwalior, Jabalpur, and Kolhapur as well.

From Aligarh to Kolhapur, brand-new airport terminal buildings have been constructed in Adampur, Azamgarh, Chitrakut, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and Murabad, according to a report by The Times of India. Apart from these cities, airports in Belagavi, Delhi, Kadapa, Lucknow, and Varanasi are also getting terminal buildings. And the funds for the projects are sanctioned as well.

The inauguration event of the Pune Airport’s new terminal building is going to be a grand one. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is going to be present at the venue in Pune. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Civil Aviation Minister, was at the Pune Airport back on January 14. During that time, he stated about the completion of the developmental project.

Here’s All You Need To Know About This New Project:

Infra News India (INI) (@TheINIofficial) shared a picture of the much-awaited terminal at Pune airport.

Built on a budget of ₹475 crore, the construction began back in 2017. This new terminal building is spanning over a massive area of 51,595 sq m, according to a report by Hindustan Times. It is likely to boost the services and enhance flyers’ experiences by handling about 12 million passengers every year. At the present moment, the capacity is at about 7.2 million and the jump in numbers is indeed a significant one.

To make transportation more convenient, a pedestrian bridge is coming up connecting Aeromall and the terminal. The project also includes facilities for an elevator and a stair to reach this new bridge.
