PVR To Open A Five-Screen Theatre At Chennai International Airport

Wise people say you must reach the airport at least 1.5 hours earlier than your domestic flight and at least 3 hours earlier than your international flight. To those wise people we ask, what do we do in the airport for so long? We often have a very long time to kill. So we end up browsing the duty-free, reading a book, gorging highly-priced food at the airport restaurant or chilling at the lounge ( if we’ve booked ourselves business class seats). Here’s where Chennai gets to celebrate. PVR is all set to open a five-screen theatre at the Chennai International Airport. And this would be the first of its kind in India. So folks at Chennai would actually look forward to catching up on a movie before they board their flights. Now that’s what we call the perfect entertainment.

What’s More?

India will witness this kind of a theatre in an airport for the very first time. But global airports have this theatre facility for a long time. In fact its a trend abroad. Singapore’s Changi Airport, one of the best airports in the world have two theatres located in Terminals 2 and 3. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport in Minnesota, America has a special 24/7 open, See18 Film Screening Room where one can catch up on arthouse films. Incheon Airport in Seoul and Hong Kong International Airport also have movie theatres. Did you know Theatres Are Taking Positive Steps For Their Visually Impaired Audiences?

In fact, Delhi Airport has its own dose of filminess at its state of the art 6D theatre. You can watch a movie which is simulated by an extraordinary experience of rain, smoke, fog, etc. We are already excited to know that PVR will be opening a five-screen theatre at the Chennai International Airport, this gives movie-going experience a whole different meaning.
