Who imagined that renewing your driver’s license would become so simple? With your Emirates ID, you may now renew your UAE driving license online. The RTA published the link for this announcement on Twitter along with their announcement. Here’s the guide on how you can do it. 

Renew Your License Easily And Quickly 

You will need to pass an eye exam before you can begin the procedure that is completed online. Residents have their UAE driving license renewed every five years, whilst citizens of the UAE and the GCCC have theirs renewed every ten years. Before renewing your driver’s license, you must pay off any outstanding traffic tickets.

If you wait more than one month to renew your UAE driving license after it has expired, you will be required to pay a cost of AED 10 (per month), with the total fee not being permitted to exceed AED 500. If you haven’t updated your driver’s license in the last 10 years, you will be required to undergo a road exam in order to get a new one.

Who Can Get a Driving License? 

In Dubai, anybody at least 18 years old may apply for a driver’s license. Those between 18 and 21 are eligible for a probationary license. The RTA must receive applications for UAE driving license in Arabic (Road and Traffic Authority). Accredited driving schools will handle driving lessons. The RTA grants a temporary license based on this application, which must be carried out throughout the course.
