RTA announced in December that it had finished phase 1, which ran from the intersection of Ras Al Khor and Dubai-Al Ain Road to the intersection of Ras Al Khor Road and Nad Al Hamar Road.
The work entailed lengthening all flyovers leading to Dubai Creek Harbour by 1.73km and adding a fourth lane of 4km in length in each direction.

At the junction of Silicon Oasis, the RTA also opened two bridges. Each of them is 120 metres long and additionally has four lanes in each direction.
