Dharamshala, the quaint and holy place that is visited by many is a hidden gem in India. Of course, many visit this place for the snow and monasteries but did you know that Dharamshala also offers a way to experience the heavens above? Yes, you can do so with stargazing. Thankfully we have collected a few places for your delight. You can visit these places, hold hands with your bae and watch millions of twinkling stars studding in the night sky. So here are 5 stargazing spots in and around Dharamshala that will leave you spellbound.

1. Bhagsu

Unwind with your loved ones in the pristine and peaceful Bhagsu Valley underneath a blanket of stars or just sit on a rock and gaze at the constellations. But most of all fall in love with nature, the hills, the waterfall, the food and the people. Camping at Bhagsu is something you need to experience for yourselves to realise its beauty! Bhagsu is nestled 4.5km away from Dharamshala.

2. Triund Valley

Triund is the reigning gem of Dharamshala with the Dhauladhar mountains on one side and the Kangra Valley on the other which makes it an extremely popular trekking spot!  Drive down, 6.8km from Dharamshala and go trekking here. Once you make it to the top, spend a few hours admiring the untouched beauty of the Dhauladhar mountain range!

3. Naddi Village

A perfect place to unwind and get away from the din of the city, this place has mushroomed into a tourist destination, thanks to the Sunset Point, View Point and Echo Point. The place is beautiful and the weather is great, perfectly complemented by a warm bowl of Maggi!  The best part is its just situated 8.7km from Dharamshala. And if that’s not reason enough to go, imagine a sky full of stars and sleeping right under that. Sweet dreams to you!

4. Kangra Valley

The place is beautiful, to say the least, and is situated on a hilltop at the confluence of two rivers. The origins of the Kangra Fort trace back to the Mahabharata and Trigarta kingdom. Although, it’s incomplete ruins now it was once admired by many and its beauty is eternal in the Himalayas. So go on a quick road trip, just 24.3 km from Dharamshala to have one of the best stargazing moments in your life.

5. Chamba Valley
