In a terrifying accident in Tamil Nadu, seven women lost their lives. The road accident occurred on September 11, 2023, in the Tirupattur district of the state. A tourist stationery van met with a deadly collision with a speeding truck in the wee hours of Monday, leading to people getting critical injuries and losing their lives. Two vans carrying passengers were returning from Mysore very early on Monday. One of these vans’ tyres burst close to Natrampalli on the Bengaluru-Chennai national highway, according to a report by India TV News. To repair it, the passengers went out of the van and were waiting near the vehicle. The van was parked close to the central median. All of a sudden, a mini-truck rammed into the repairing van and crushed the passengers waiting close to the vehicle.

Right at that moment, 7 women lost their lives after this terrifying road accident. About 10 people faced severe injuries, shared the Tirupathur Police Officials.

The 10 Injured People Were Rushed To Hospital

Following the accident, the people who got injured were admitted to the Krishnagiri Government Medical College Hospital, according to a report by Hindustan Times. Currently, everyone is undergoing treatment and checkups at this hospital. Out of these 10 people admitted to the hospital, some were travelling in the tourist van and 3 were inside the lorry.

The 7 women who died in this road accident were Deivanai, Devaki, Geethanjali, Kalavathi, Meera, Savithri, and Sithammal alias Selvi, as per the report by India TV News.

All these people travelling from Mysore are from Onanguttai village. This is a small village in the Vellore district of Tamil Nadu. They went to Karnataka on September 8. They faced this unfortunate accident while returning from the short trip.

M. K. Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu expressed his condolences on this accident and the deaths and injuries. He made the announcement of a compensation of 1 lakh to each of the families of the deceased passengers. He also announced a compensation of 50,000 for the injured people on treatment.
