Twitter Restores Blue Tick For Users With 1 Million Followers; Here Are A Few Of Them

Unless you live under a rock, you know that Twitter has been in the news lately. This line has been uttered a lot since the eccentric billionaire Elon Musk took over the micro-blogging website. The website made headlines after it removed the verification mark or the blue tick from the accounts of all those users who had not subscribed to Twitter Blue. Now, after facing backlash, it seems that it has restored a few blue ticks.

List Of Some Celebrities Whose Blue Ticks Have Been Restored

These are the celebrities and/or prominent personalities who lost their blue ticks briefly. Some of them lost their ticks despite paying for the mark. Amitabh Bachchan and Kamaal R Khan were among those people.

Now after facing severe backlash, Twitter has restored blue ticks. However, this isn’t for everyone who had a blue tick. Only users with 1 million followers or more will get their blue ticks back. Others will have to pay £8.

Following are some prominent people who lost their blue ticks and got them back: –

  • Amitabh Bachchan
  • Kamaal R Khan AKA KRK
  • Shah Rukh Khan
  • Salman Khan
  • Vikas Khanna
  • Ranveer Brar
  • Gordon Ramsay
  • Jamie Oliver
  • Akshay Kumar
  • A. R. Rahman
  • Priyanka Chopra
  • Dhanush
  • Sachin Tendulkar
  • Alia Bhatt

Twitter Blue Subscription Row

Earlier this year, Twitter announced that it would remove the verification mark from Twitter accounts. The entire notion of being able to purchase the blue tick didn’t sit well with Netizens from the get-go.

Earlier, only people who had made a splash in their respective fields of work and had amassed followers on their own were given this blue tick. It also posed as a criterion for distinguishing between actual official accounts of such prominent personalities and the fake or parody ones.

Now after enabling the blue tick for all those who can fork over enough money seems in bad taste. Many people argue that Twitter needs to do so in order to generate revenue. However, when the owner of the company is literally one of the richest people in the world, the argument seems to lose its weight.
