Twitter has finally revoked legacy blue ticks from all verified accounts! In fact, users will have to sign up for blue tick and it will be a paid subscription. In addition to the blue checkmark, these users will have access to new features. Following this decision, several prominent personalities and government official accounts have lost the verified status of their Twitter accounts. And this has sparked a meme on Twitter itself!
Twitter Revokes Blue Ticks From Verified Accounts

The blue tick system was introduced to signify verified accounts of prominent personalities. They include celebrities, politicians, companies, NGOs etc. This helped differentiate between genuine accounts and parody or imposter accounts. However, now that this system is no longer valid, there is going to be confusion!
Amitabh Bachchan has even tweeted about this and wrote that he has even paid for a subscription, now, can he have his account verified?
A similar situation was faced by KRK. According to his tweet, he had paid for a subscription three days ago. Still, Twitter removed the blue tick from his account.

Among the list of celebrities, Shah Rukh Khan has also lost the blue tick. However, to everyone’s surprise, his fan clubs still have this sign of verification!
This wasn’t limited to people. Apparently, the government official accounts like NITI Aayog, PIB India, Ministry of WCD, IRCTC, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of MSME and several state tourism Twitter accounts do not have a blue tick!
