In between the ongoing unrest about the treatment of the Israeli government towards Palestinian Americans, the US government is likely to work on this plan, according to a report by Times Now News. The plan to allow Israelis to travel to the United States without carrying a visa is likely to take place sometime this week. The end of this week not only marks the timing of this announcement but it is also prior to the end of the federal budget year.

The Department of Homeland Security is looking into this Visa Waiver Program. At the current moment, this programme is allowing citizens from 40 countries from different parts of the world to fly to the United States for a duration of 3 months without the need to carry a visa. Also, among these countries, most are from Asia and Europe.

Alejandro Mayorkas, the Homeland Security Secretary, is going to declare the news this Thursday, reported Hindustan Times. The Secretary is going to announce this after getting the recommendation from Secretary of State Antony Blinken. This recommendation is on the basis of the 5 officials knowing about this.

About 8 days after the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in NYC, the final declaration of this decision is going to be made.

The beginning and implementation of the Visa Waiver Program is expected to take about one and a half months, according to the Jerusalem Post. Also, it states that this is the expected duration only if there are no delays coming into action in between.
