“We Deny The Baseless Allegations,” Shilpa Shetty Breaks Silence On Bastian Bengaluru Case

On Wednesday, the Income Tax Department raided Shilpa Shetty’s Bastian in Mumbai. This came a day after the Bengaluru Police registered an FIR against Bastian in Bengaluru for operating beyond permitted hours and allowing late-night parties. Amid the ongoing speculation, Shilpa Shetty has now taken to Instagram and broken her silence. Here’s what she said.

Shilpa Shetty Breaks Silence On FIR Against Bastian Pub

According to a report by India Today, the Income Tax Department conducted a raid at Bastian in Dadar, Mumbai, owned by actor Shilpa Shetty. Reportedly, this comes just a day after Bastian Garden City, Bangaluru, a pub co-owned by her, found itself in trouble. The pub broke operational norms by running beyond permitted hours. 

It should be noted that Bastian Garden City is run by Bastian Hospitality, founded by businessman Ranjit Bindra. Shilpa Shetty invested in the venture in 2019 and reportedly holds a 50% stake in the pub. With several speculations doing the rounds, the actress has now addressed the matter regarding the ongoing Bengaluru pub case publicly.

Actress Issues Official Statement On Instagram

Shilpa Shetty shared a story on her official Instagram account addressing the issue. She stated, “We categorically deny the baseless and motivated allegations being circulated.”
She further added that the issue is being given a ‘criminal colour without any lawful basis’. The actress also clarified that she has already filed a quashing petition before the Hon’ble High Court, which is pending adjudication (a process where a court hears a case and gives a legal decision). 

She concluded her statement by saying that she and her team have fully cooperated with the investigation and are confident that justice will prevail. Shilpa also said that she has full faith in law enforcement authorities and the judicial system of India. Further details regarding the Income Tax Department’s raid at Bastian, Mumbai, are still awaited.

The incident came to light after CCTV footage from the Bengaluru pub went viral. The footage reportedly showed two groups of patrons engaged in a verbal exchange around 1:30 am on December 11.

Shilpa Shetty has now broken her silence on the matter. However, the case will now move ahead.
