One Of The 12 Jyotirlingas Of India

Situated in India’s oldest city, Varanasi, the Kashi Vishwanath temple is considered to be one of the most important temples in Hinduism. The temple has more than 70 lakh visitors every year. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. Hindus try to visit this place at least once in their lifetime for it is believed that a dip in the Ganga river and the darshan of this temple leads you to attain Moksha.

Destroyed And Built Several Times

The history of this temple is very unique. It was destroyed and built several times. In the year 1777, Maharani of Indore, Ahilybai Holkar re-established this timple. Recently our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi renovated the temple into a huge and larger than life Dham.

Re-Built In Record-Breaking Time Of 21 months

The temple was only 3000 sqft. But now after renovation, restoration and upgradation it is spread across 5 Lakhs sqft. The renovation began in 2019 and despite the pandemic, it got renovated. It was in early 2022 that the temple got inaugurated. There are gold domes constructed and it is said that if your wishes come true if you wish looking at the golden chakra.

Corridor That Connects Lalita Ghat To The Temple

It is said that one should visit the temple after taking a dip in the river Ganga, but because of the houses, and buildings being constructed on the way, this was not possible. But now there is a corridor built through which the path between Lalita Ghat and Vishwanath temple is shorter.
