Recently, the IMD Smart City Index released its rankings for 2024. Characterised by a high degree of stability, the index covered 142 cities, as compared to 141 in the previous edition. In fact, Abu Dhabi and Dubai have snagged high rankings in the list of the top 20 cities, as revealed by the research.
IMD Smart City Index 2024 Has Been Revealed
IMD Smart City Index 2024 introduced a list of the top 20 cities in its newest rankings. As it happens, most of the cities were largely the same as those seen in the list for the previous edition. And, Abu Dhabi has managed to earn the 10th rank in the top 20 names. Not too far behind is Dubai at the 12th rank, also earning a high spot. It’s worth noting that the city of Riyadh has also managed to snag the 25th rank while Jeddah is in the 55th position. Medina is at 74th and Al-Khobar is ranked at the 99th position in the list.

In case you’re wondering, SCI champions are cities that have never dropped in terms of average rankings established for three years. At this point, it should be noted that this is not the first time Abu Dhabi has performed well in a list. It has previously also won other notable recognitions in such lists, globally.
