The Dubai Sports Council has introduced a groundbreaking addition to the world of sports,  the ‘Dubai Jet Suit Race.’ In a pioneering move, this event marks the first-ever competition featuring contenders navigating the skies without the aid of traditional aircraft. Instead, participants will soar through the air using specially designed jet suits equipped with powerful engines, creating a spectacular display of skill and innovation.

World’s First Jet Suit Race In Dubai

In collaboration with Gravity Industries, a leading company in the development of jet suits and the emerging sport of jet suit racing, the Dubai Jet Suit Race promises to push the boundaries of conventional sporting events. Gravity Industries’ expertise in jet suit technology ensures a thrilling and visually captivating experience for spectators, setting the stage for an unforgettable competition.

Global Participation And Local Representation

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the race will feature eight contestants hailing from different countries, showcasing the international appeal of this unique sporting spectacle. Among the participants is Ahmed Al Shehhi from the UAE, adding a local touch to the event. The Dubai Jet Suit Race positions the city as a global hub for hosting innovative and prestigious events, reinforcing its status as a dynamic and forward-thinking destination.

Unveiling the Race At Burj Park

The announcement of the Dubai Jet Suit Race took place at an enthralling ceremony held at Burj Park, situated next to the iconic Burj Khalifa. The event drew the attention of media representatives worldwide, aerial sports enthusiasts, adventurers, and curious fans. A live demonstration featuring three competitors in jet suits soaring over the Dubai Fountain captivated the audience, providing a glimpse into the exhilarating experience that awaits during the upcoming race.

Strategic Collaboration For Success

During the ceremony, the Dubai Sports Council and Gravity Industries formalized their collaboration by signing an agreement to organise the Dubai Jet Suit Race. Set to take place on February 28, 2024, during the Dubai Boat Show, this strategic timing allows visitors to the exhibition to witness this unparalleled aerial competition. The racecourse, situated between Dubai Harbor and Skydive Dubai, offers an ideal location with water conditions deemed suitable for jet suit racing.

Specially Designed Safety Jet Suits

Ensuring the safety of participants remains a top priority, with competitors donning specially crafted jet suits designed to meet stringent health and safety standards. These suits include features focused on protection from drowning and enhanced buoyancy, emphasizing the commitment to a secure yet thrilling sporting experience.
