Everything You Need To Know About Clearing US Immigration At Abu Dhabi Airport

Many visitors from the United Arab Emirates go to the United States, and those leaving the capital city may easily pass through US immigration on their way to the States. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one of only six worldwide that provide this service. The others are Aruba, Ireland, The Bahamas, Bermuda and Canada. Here are all the details you need to know about clearing US immigration at the Abu Dhabi Airport.

Where Can You Find This Service At The Abu Dhabi Airport?

The service is offered on Etihad’s eleven weekly flights to New York City and the airline’s daily flights to Washington, DC, and Chicago, IL, from Abu Dhabi International Airport. It permits travellers to cross security, customs and immigration before getting on aircraft. Travellers may bypass customs and security procedures upon arrival in the United States by being treated as local rather than foreigner. All travellers must go through US immigration in the UAE when departing from Abu Dhabi.

Stay Updated on COVID Travel Rules

Currently, the United States requires most international passengers entering the country to demonstrate either evidence of COVID-19 immunisation or an exemption certificate. The United States government must recognise vaccines. However, the second dosage must have administer no less than 14 days before entry. US citizens under the age of 18 and children under the age of 18 are excluded.

The United States CDC encourages masks to be used on public transportation and in confined settings, while face masks remain mandatory on all Etihad flights. Since the United States lifted its travel ban in June, no PCR testing is necessary for visitors.

Pack According To The US Security Standards

US Customs and Border Protection officials strictly enforce regulations that require all liquids to be under 100 ml and to fit into a single zipp plastic bag. This includes liquids bought at duty-free, even if they are in a sealed airport shopping bag. Therefore, it’s a good idea to double-check the legality of any food or plant. However, you can bring back other goods as keepsakes from your trip abroad before entering the United States.
