Faye D’Souza Visits Bangalore’s Iconic Koshy’s; Netizens Say 70-YO Restaurant Has Lost Its Charm

A trip to Bangalore for most, is incomplete without a pilgrimage-like visit to Koshy’s— a colonial-era eatery which has served the likes of Queen Elizabeth II, India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru among other patrons. The 70-year-old restaurant known for its piping hot roast chicken, and delicious bowls of stew served with a siding of fluffy appams has lured generations. Recently, eminent journalist Faye D’Souza headed to Koshy’s during her visit to Bangalore. But Netizens dissed the restaurant for having lost its charm, here’s why.

Faye D’Souza who seldom shares restaurant and travel recommendations, took to Instagram to post a picture of her visit the Bangalore. Standing at the entrance of Koshy’s, with her buddies, Antil Yadav and Neeraj Rawat, the journalist is all smiles after ticking off the iconic restaurant from her Bangalore itinerary. In the caption, she writes, “When in Bengaluru ❤️ @rjkhurki @belikenee_ what is your favourite thing to order at Koshys?”

While you’d expect Netizens to flood the comments section with food recommendations, it seemed to be quite the opposite. The 70-year-old restaurant seemed to have lost its charm for Bangalore, at least for Netizens commenting on Faye’s Instagram post. @subhadra.menon comments, “Lovely pic. But, Koshy’s is only a feeling now. The food is awful and there’s literally nothing worth ordering anymore. I’ve been going to this iconic cafe since I was a child, and was very loyal till a couple of years ago”.

@harsha.thimmaiah agrees and states that the iconic restaurant is now just a shadow of what it used to be. He further called the food awful or just average-tasting. @rahul_v_shetty also chimed in and called the place overrated. @kathyamagavi dissing Koshy’s, says, “Not anymore. It’s lost its charm to say the least. Their appams and stew used to be so good , now the stew is dishwater and appams undercooked. And the mad rush for bfast !!”
