Not Ladakh, Raghav Juyal Spots Rare Snow Leopard At THIS Place In Uttarakhand

Raghav Juyal, a popular Indian dancer, TV host and actor, recently visited Uttarakhand, where he was lucky enough to spot a snow leopard, also known as the Ghost of the Mountains. Witnessing a snow leopard in its natural habitat is a dream for many wildlife lovers. These big cats, called the Ghost of the Mountains, are known for their elusive nature, solitary behaviour and perfect camouflage against rocky mountain terrain. Seeing them in the wild is exceptionally difficult, and many wildlife experts consider it one of the hardest animal sightings in the world.

But it seems like actor Raghav Juyal was extremely lucky. He was recently in Uttarakhand, where he visited Niti Valley, a remote high-altitude Himalayan valley located in the Chamoli district. Raghav Juyal posted a video of the big cat sighting and wrote, “Snow leopard, the rarest sight.” In the clip, the animal can be seen relaxing while staring straight into the camera. After some time, the big cat gets up and wanders off.

Where Was The Snow Leopard Spotted?

The snow leopard, with its big, fluffy tail, might look adorable, but the animal is known for not liking attention too much. Pangarchulla Adventure Camps, a trekking, skiing, expedition and biking organisation in North India, confirmed the exact location. The big cat was spotted by Raghav Juyal in the high-altitude border landscapes of Rimkhim, Niti Valley, one of the wildest and most untouched corners of Garhwal.

Some of the best places in India to see snow leopards are Niti Valley in Uttarakhand, Hemis National Park in Ladakh, Great Himalayan National Park, and Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary in Spiti Valley. You can also spot them in Gangotri National Park.

You should know that these animals mostly live between 3,000 and 5,000 metres above sea level in rocky, rugged terrain. This is why spotting them in the wild is so difficult.
