The newly announced train services aim to ease the heavy rush during the holiday season. These trains will run on several key routes where demand is usually at its peak. According to a report by India Today, railway officials have stated that the move is part of a regular effort to support travellers during the holidays, when many travel home from cities.
The Key Routes Of The Summer Special Trains
The summer special trains will primarily connect cities like Mumbai, Gujarat, and Kolkata with long-route destinations across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The two regions that see high passenger movement during the summer. As per the news portal, one of the most highlighted services is the Udhna-Jaynagar unreserved special train (09091/09092), which runs via Gorakhpur. The train departed from Udhna on April 12, 2026, and from Jaynagar on April 15, 2026. The train passes through many important stations, like Vadodara, Kota, Kanpur, Agra, Gorakhpur, and Darbhanga, before reaching its destination.
For passengers, this means more travel options during one of the busiest times of the year. Instead of relying on regular trains, people can switch up and book summer special trains for easy travelling. These special services give people a better chance at booking confirmed tickets.
