Indians Can Now Get A Driving License Without A Test At The RTO

Many learners often find the driving license test very hard and they get very confused while appearing for the test. Well, there is great news that will be a huge relief for all the learner drivers. The central government has made some changes that have simplified the entire driving license procedure. Gone are those days when we had to stand in long queues in the Regional Transport Office. Read on to know all the new changes.

You Do Not Need To Give Tests At The RTO For A Driving License

According to the new rules announced by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, there is no need for the candidates to follow the strenuous process of getting a license at the RTO. Candidates do not have to sit for any test at the RTO. Any recognised driving school will do the necessary to get a driving license. It is indeed a huge relief from the RTO’s prolonged procedures.

Take Training From A Recognised Driving Training School

You can train yourself from a well-recognised driving school and pass the tests there to be eligible for a driving license. Once you pass all the exams, you will receive a certificate from the training school. Your license will entirely depend on the result of the test and the certificate.

All You Need To Know About The New Regulations:

The Road and Transport Ministry has announced some mandate rules and conditions for the training schools to be eligible to give a driving license. Read to know all the details.

  • These schools need to have at least 1 acre of land for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and light motor vehicles.
  • Land of at least two acres is a must for medium and heavy passenger goods vehicles, trailers,
  • The trainer needs to complete his/her 12th class education. Also, they need to have experience in driving for a minimum of 5 years. Proper knowledge about traffic rules and regulations is a must.
  • For light motor vehicles, the course duration is a maximum of 4 weeks and till 29 hours. The syllabus is categorised into theory and practical.
