Getting around JLT without a car has always been a bit of a shrug-doable, but never quite convenient. That’s about to change. DMCC has just announced JLT Link, a fully electric bus service launching on 1 August 2026, and it’s set to quietly reshape how people move through JLT and Uptown Dubai.
DMCC’s JLT Link Electric Bus Service Launches August 1
JLT Link isn’t a brand-new concept bolted onto the district; it’s replacing the existing RTA bus service, with DMCC promising no gap or disruption to the current passenger schedule. The fleet itself is a mix of 16-, 23- and 31-seat electric buses, all with low-floor access, wheelchair accessibility, and room for standing passengers. It’s a genuinely practical upgrade rather than a flashy one, which, for a transport service, is exactly the point.
The Routes, Stops And Timings You Actually Need
Here’s the part that matters if you’re actually going to use it. The service covers 18 stops across JLT and Uptown Dubai, with direct connections to both DMCC Metro Station and Sobha Realty Metro Station, so it plugs straight into the wider Dubai Metro network rather than existing as an island service. Two circular routes are running within JLT itself at 20-minute intervals, plus a separate route connecting Uptown Dubai to DMCC Metro Station every 30 minutes. Timing-wise: the JLT internal routes run Monday to Saturday from 6:30 am to 9:30 pm (last departure 9:24 pm, last arrival 9:37 pm), and on Sundays from 9:30 am to 12:30 am. The Uptown Dubai route runs from 6:55 am to 8 pm.

Why DMCC Is Doing This Now
JLT already has solar-powered infrastructure, Dubai Can water stations, and community recycling facilities, and JLT Link slots straight into that same sustainability push, aligning with Dubai’s Net Zero 2050 goals. Practically, it also does something more immediate: it makes it genuinely easier to reach the district’s restaurants, cafés, retail and offices without pulling a car out for a five-minute trip, which matters given how much JLT’s food scene alone has grown in the past year. It also lines up with Dubai’s broader shift toward electric public transport, which has been steadily rolling out across the city’s bus network.
