On World Laughter Day, Mumbai Police took a quirky dig on these yearners and shared a list of hilarious excuses people made amid the lockdown to be allowed to leave the house. Taking a cue from movie disclaimers, the organisation has even captioned the post as “All the characters and events depicted are real. Any resemblance to a person living or dead is purely intentional.”

When Mumbai Commissioner had mandated the movement of cars in the city only with colour coded stickers, a man had tweeted, “What sticker should I use in order to go out and meet my girlfriend? I miss her.” And Mumbai Police’s witty reply had won the heart of the netizens. Communicating Through Wit And Humour…

Time and again, Mumbai Police has used wit and humour as a tool to draw attention to important messages. Even a year back, posts of Mumbai police to spread COVID-19 awareness had taken social media by storm. They had thrown up a post with a ‘stay at home’ horoscope for the week, and another post taking inspiration from Harry Potter. And hands down, the posts were too catchy to skip.

Recently, the governmental social media page also shared the ‘Lyrics of Safety’ featuring Linken Park, Ed Sheeran (Ed’Shee ran home), Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift and more. The post caption reads, “Mumbai Police, in collaboration with responsible Mumbaikars, is proud to present ‘Safety Remix – Volume 2′”.
