This Foodie Pilot From UP Sells Unique Burgers With A Desi Twist; Earns ₹13 Crores A Year

Wat-a-Burger! You might have already heard the name. The brand is the king of fusion burgers and offers unique, mouth-watering burgers like Aloo Achari Burger, Peri Peri Chicken Burger, Chicken Surprise Burger, Grilled Mutton Kebab Burger and more. Also, Rajat Jaiswal, a commercial pilot, hops into Wat-a-Burger outlets in the city to which he flies. And it’s not just because he loves burgers, it because Wat-a-Burger is his very own franchise. He, along with his childhood buddy, Farman Beig had launched the burger brand in Noida back in 2016. Today, it has around 60 outlets in 16 cities and 11 states. The yearly revenue earned from the sales of the burgers is around ₹13 crores. But it wasn’t built in a day. A blend of passion, dedication and hard work led to the success of the brand. Turning Passion Into Profits

Rajat, who hails from Noida, Uttar Pradesh always wanted to do something in the food sector. Additionally, he also wanted to have an alternative source of income. Speaking to The Better India, Rajat said that the aviation sector is volatile and it has many ups and downs. So he considers it safe to have an alternative source of income. He also considers food to be a profitable sector that will never sink. So Rajat, along with Farman, decided to turn the passion into profits.

Fusion Burgers Were A Hit Among Masses

The journey wasn’t easy in the beginning. Obviously, they faced competition from big names. But their unique concept of fusion burgers clicked well with the customers. To start with, they had even marketed the brand by running a campaign with a payback guarantee. But the buyers loved their burgers. The fusion became their USP and they soon became a popular name.

Farman, the CEO of the venture told The Better India, “We all know that Butter Chicken is a popular dish that almost 80% of chicken lovers are familiar with. The customer risks less by ordering this food item because they know the taste of Butter Chicken. So what could go wrong? The brand today offers 20 varieties of burgers and to remain within the reach of everyone, they are affordable too. The burgers are priced between ₹49 and ₹189. Wat-a-Burger has outlets in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Hyderabad, Rajasthan, Bengaluru, Assam and Bihar. Rajat said that the brand has planned to open outlets in some other cities too. Reportedly, the brand is also planning to launch biryanis. The story of Wat-a-Burger proves that smart ideation is crucial in making any business stand out among the crowd.
