Nitin Gadkari, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister recently shared some pictures of the Ambala-Kotputli Economic Corridor, also known as Ambala-Kotputli Expressway and  is 313 km long. The entire corridor has a cutting-edge traffic management system installed. Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan’s road systems are anticipated to undergo significant changes thanks to the 313 km long Ambala-Kotputli route. The Economic Corridor as such comprises four road projects. 

Connect Expressway Will Connect 112 Villages

The NHAI’s Ambala-Kotputli Expressway is a six-lane, partially access-controlled expressway that has a route alignment through Rajasthan and Haryana and is currently under development. Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Jind, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, and Mahendragarh are eight districts in Haryana where the Ambala-Kotputli corridor crosses through around 112 different villages. It then travels via the Narnaul Bypass before meeting the Delhi-Jaipur Highway at Paniyala Mode close to Kotputli. Under the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I programme, this combination of brownfield-upgrade and greenfield project is being created with a March 2022 deadline. In addition to six wayside amenities and a cutting-edge traffic management system, it will offer a north-south route within Haryana.

Wayside Amenities For People’s Convenience 

Ambal-Kotputli Expressway will offer the quickest, safest, and shortest route between Ambala and Kotputli on the Jaipur highway and speed up the state of Haryana’s overall industrial and economic development. For this highway project, over 2,000 hectares of land were acquired, and approximately 3,000 crore in farmer compensation and 6,000 crore in civil construction costs were incurred. In this ambitious project, six locations have wayside amenities built for the convenience of the public, including a trauma centre, a gas station, a kiosk restaurant, a dhaba, a children’s park, etc. In addition, interchange has been planned at 16 locations, including two main toll plazas and eight ROBs. Truck and trailer parking has been adequately planned for.
