The legacy of Ashok & Ashok Meat Dhaba is held up with honour and pride by Sheily Bhatia and her husband Rohit. It was started by two friends who shared the same name and a passion for cooking in 1984. Today, this place holds the stature of one of the best chicken korma places in Delhi. They are equally popular for their mutton korma as well. Tourists often make it a point to visit Sadar Bazaar on their Dilli darshan to do lists. What is it

Chicken korma is such a speciality in the Mughlai mahal of India because it’s a brilliant blend of cream and stock. The dish is cooked in a watery stock but braised with yoghurt or cream to make a thick glaze around the meat. What Ashok & Ashok Meat Dhaba do is that they mould this beautiful creation with 30 different kinds of spices in pure desi ghee! Paharganj’s 75-Year-Old Multan Moth Bhandar Serves Delhi’s Favourite Moth Kachori For ₹30!

What’s more

The chicken korma’s meat is so tender that it just falls off the bone. The gravy is prepared with minced meat for an extra punch to their exquisite craft. The fragrance pulls shoppers in from 10 meters away. It takes 20-30 minutes of simmering for the spices and tin of ghee to seep into the meat. Then, voila! A quarter plate with 2 pieces sells for ₹300. That sounds steep for desi street food, but the size of the pieces is pretty decent. However, you want to eat endlessly at this place.
