There are many stunning beaches around the world. With some boasting golden sands, others are known for their black sandy beaches. However, today we are specifically talking about golden beaches around the world. In fact, BeachAtlas, a London-based start-up recently shortlisted 100 beaches around the world for its Golden Beach Awards 2024. And Dubai’s JBR has made it to the top 10.
BeachAtlas Releases List Of Top 100 Beaches
Dubai’s JBR earned the eighth spot on the list of the top 100 beaches worldwide. Released by BeachAtlas, which is a London-based startup, this list was shortlisted with the help of an algorithm. In fact, these hundred beaches were shortlisted based on six criteria! And, then the locations were put to vote by a panel of travel experts and influencers.
Golden Beach Awards 2024 See GCC Beaches, Shine Bright
Not just the UAE, Saudi Arabia’s beach also made it to the list of Top 100 by snagging the 41st rank. In case you’re wondering, Umluj Beach comprises 104 islands, thereby, forming an archipelago. In fact, it is one of the programmes of the Red Sea Project and a mega project, which is a part of Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, it is often compared to the Maldives for its serenity and pristine beaches
Coming back to the criteria for shortlisting the beaches, these included classic beauty, party and lifestyle, natural diversity, diversity equity and inclusion, sense of community, and cultural significance. Besides them, Sharm El-Sheikh, which is located at the tip of the peninsula in Egypt also earned a spot on the list by taking the 69th rank. While Qatar’s Inland Sea Beach took the 89th rank.However, India’s Baga Beach and Gokarna Beach also earned 35th and 78th ranks, respectively.
