UAE is not only one of the most preferred tourists destinations in the world, but it is also known as one of the safest countries in the world. And after receiving many accolades, Abu Dhabi and Dubai have made it to the list of the world’s top destinations for global business. Here’s everything you must know.

Dubai Is Now The 27th Most Competitive City In The World 

According to the Global Cities Index (GCI) and the Global Cities Outlook (GCO) reports by management consultancy firm Kearney, the UAE cities have climbed up the ranking and how. In terms of the rankings, Dubai has secured the rank of the 27th most competitive city in the world. The list is based on the emirate’s performance in terms of business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience and political engagement.

For the ranking, Dubai is ranked above cities like Frankfurt, Montreal and Munich. New York has topped the list. Whereas, countries like London, Paris, Tokyo and Beijing have made it to the top 5 of the list. Now for the GCO rankings, Abu Dhabi secured seventh in the world ahead of Dubai, which is in 18th place.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai Top The Economics Metrics In The List

GCO assesses a city’s performance and considers criteria including personal wellbeing, economics, innovation and governance. For the list, London bagged the first position, whereas, Toronto, Singapore, Tokyo, Paris and Munich, ranked higher than Abu Dhabi.

According to Kearney, cities in the Middle East and the UAE, are catching up to North America and Europe. It’s because of “long-term investment in governance and economic well-being”.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai topped the economics metric in infrastructure. It is also combined with increases in GDP per capita, FDI (foreign direct investment) inflows, and foreign investments- this took Abu Dhabi to seventh overall in the GCO rankings and Dubai from 32 to 18.
