Delhi Police Is All Set For The New Year 2023 With Guidelines, Tight Security And More Personnel On Duty.

New Year 2023 is just around the corner, and people are busy planning their New Year’s weekend. The Delhi Police has also been busy with the planning. No, not planning for the party, but tightening up the security and measures. Ahead of the celebrations in the capital of the country, the Delhi Police is all set for the new year 2023 with its guidelines and measures for the safety of the people.

To ensure the safety and security of the people, Delhi Police has already begun security checks and anti-terror mock drills in the capital. The places with heavy footfall like Chanakyapuri, Hauz Khas, and Connaught Place are deployed with a large number of police personnel, including women. 

They have already made a list of all the tourist spots, markets, and party places and made the security arrangements. Those caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs will face harsh penalties. They have also had meetings with owners and managers of restaurants, pubs, etc. to make sure they comply with the guidelines.

In order to sensitise people, they have also conducted police-public meetings.

No Unlawfulness Under The Name Of Celebration.

Delhi Police said that they do expect a lot of crowding as people are more excited about the new year this year after the pandemic. A senior police officer mentioned that they are also conducting mock drills to check their preparedness. Women’s personnel will be deployed in casual clothes in places with heavy footfall to ensure women’s and children’s safety.

They have also increased security checks at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals. They have also strengthened pickets across the capital city. Mobile patrolling vehicles like vans, bikes, and scooters have also been deployed. They will also be conducting foot patrols frequently in the city.

The police have stationed Quick Reaction Teams in high-footfall areas of the city. The senior officer said that they are making sure that no hooliganism or unlawfulness takes place in the name of celebration.
