Dubai RTA Unveils 2 New Bridges To Ease Traffic & Cut Journey Time By Up To 70%

Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has once again proved that efficiency is key, opening not one but two major bridges, paving the way to smoother rides and faster trips. These new bridges promise to make your commute feel like a breeze, offering a sleek solution to the city’s traffic puzzle.

A Quick Fix To Traffic Jams

The first of these two shiny new bridges spans 601 metres and boasts two lanes ready to hold 3,200 cars every hour. Eastward traffic from Garn Al Sabkha Street heading towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, and northward to Al Qusais and Deira, will have a smoother path. Forget those old days of inching through traffic, as this bridge is your express lane to sanity.

The second bridge isn’t far behind in the coolness factor, stretching 664 metres, also with two lanes. But here’s the kicker, it eliminates the nightmare of traffic overlap for those heading south from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Al Yalayis Street and Jebel Ali Port. It’s like Dubai just gifted you a fast-forward button for your commute.

New Dubai Bridges Become The Ultimate Time-Savers

These bridges are more than just concrete marvels. They are time-cutting ninjas. The RTA estimates that travel time from Garn Al Sabkha Street to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road will drop by 40%. What was once a painful 20-minute journey during rush hour will now take a breezy 12 minutes. Oh, and for those journeying from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road to Jebel Ali Port? You’ll be zipping along, saving 70% of your time, from 21 minutes to a mere 7.

The final phase of this road makeover, a 943-metre bridge, will complete the traffic fix later this year, promising to hold up to 8,000 vehicles per hour. With this, Dubai will feel like a city built for speed, not traffic.
