The Project Details And Its Benefits

This project will be covering districts like Jhansi, Mahoba, Chitrakut Dham and Banda in Uttar Pradesh and Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh). Moreover, the doubling will provide easy movement of trains commuting from Jhansi to Allahabad (Prayagraj). It will help improve the punctuality of passenger trains, ensuring their smooth running and providing better safety. This project will result in the overall development of the Bundelkhand area. The electrification of this project will lead the trains to operate faster and reduce carbon emissions. This will promote sustainable development and reduce fuel import dependence.

The Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) will be near Bhimsen and this route will act as a feeder route. It will help in economic and industrial development and ensure the swift movement of goods. This project was supposed to be completed earlier but due to COVID-19, this was not possible. And the work was halted for 1.5 years. The government had extended the deadline for project completion to March 2023. This was a much-awaited project that would ensure a smooth flow of railway movement.
