First Vada Pav Stall Opened On August 23
Maharashtra’s go-to snack vada pav is considered one of the best burgers in the world. So how did August 23 come to be known as World Vada Pav Day? Well, on August 23, 1966, Ashok Vaidya, a Mumbaikar, opened the first vada pav stall opposite Dadar Station. He served thousands of textile mill workers, the quick inexpensive snack that helps them keep up with the hustle-bustle of their routine.
