The first step in this overhaul is the Air India cabin upgrade of its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, set to be completed by early 2027. Passengers can expect sleeker interiors, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment systems, and more comfortable seating.

Once the Dreamliners are done, the Boeing 777s will also get a facelift, aligning them with international standards of luxury and efficiency. With the backing of the Tata Group, Air India is now serious about regaining customer loyalty through world-class experiences.

The airline’s transformation goes beyond aesthetics. Air India is also introducing shorter layovers, a welcome change for long-haul travellers tired of extended waits at connecting airports. This shift is expected to streamline journeys and enhance overall punctuality.

In addition to the Air India cabin upgrade, the airline is working on new airport lounges and upgraded digital services to offer a smoother, more premium experience from check-in to landing.
