1. Alibaug
With the blessing of the Arabian sea, Alibaug has proved to be the perfect weekend getaway destination. An added benefit is how close it is to the city. All you have to do is hop into a ferry and boom! You’ve just entered a paradise where beach goals become a reality. You can chill by the Nagaon, Mandwa beach, visit the 400-year-old Ganesh Temple or just spend your day chilling in a hammock by the sea. And be home by night ready for the next hectic day.

2. Lavasa
Lavasa is a beautiful hill station near Pune, a must visit for all Punekars. Go on nature trails here and indulge in adventurous watersports like Kayaking. Don’t forget to gorge on good food at the Lakeside Promenade with breathtaking views. You can visit here any time of the year, the weather being pleasant.

3. Panchgani
Panchgani is a picture postcard hill station that you cannot miss out on. From breakfast at Lucky Restaurant to the food stop at Mapro Garden, food is impeccable here. Visit table land too, Asia’s second longest mountain plateau for the best sunset views. Panchgani also gives you some breathtaking hilltop views that should definitely be witnessed. Amazing food combined with a blissful view, it is a perfect getaway spot for the family in winters as it gets too dry in the Summer.

4. Tamhini Ghat
Head to Tamhini ghat to witness the most spectacular sight of majestic waterfalls all around you cascading from a greater height. Tamhini Ghat is a mountain passage that cuts across the Sahyadri range to combine Pune and the Konkan region. There are huge waterfalls opening out right on the road, the gushing sound of the water and the stunning sight of the waterfalls make this an ideal spot for a weekend getaway.

5. Sinhagad Fort 

Sinhagad Fort located in the outskirts of Pune is a major attraction site where visitors often come for a quick getaway from Pune city and other adjoining areas. You can visit here between 9 am to 6 pm. Trekking up to the fort is mostly doable with straight and rocky paths. And the great views are definitely worth it! You can check out the pristine Kali temple as well.
