The Pink City, Jaipur houses a Mini Kashmir. Confused? Well, we’re referring to the houseboat themed restaurant, Zarpar, launched by a Kashmiri Pandit, Suman Raina in 2017. Offering tourists and locals in Jaipur, a taste of authentic Kashmiri food, Zarpar has been a second home to Kashmiris residing in the city. With authentic Wazwan, plush interiors designed like the inside of a houseboat on the Dal Lake, this unique restaurant is certainly a sight to behold.

Suman Raina revealed to Indiatimes that she opened Zapar with an aim to promote her own Kashmir in Jaipur. Zarpar caters to all Kashmiris in the city missing home-cooked food and also foodies who aren’t able to visit Kashmir. The restaurant is divided into two parts- Deewan Khana (Fine Dine) and Pari Mahal (Houseboat). The Deewan Khana is decorated with plush Kashmiri carpets and wooden chairs and tables with intricate designs. There’s also a raised platform with low tables for people who want to enjoy the traditional food in a traditional style, sitting cross-legged.

A bubbling waterfall separates the houseboat and Deewan Khana. And a selfie point beckons curious guests to don Kashmiri dresses and jewellery and clock photos on the bench called Tasveer.
