Recently, a Pune man named Shankar Kurade was making headlines for donning a ‘gold mask’ worth ₹2.89 lakhs. And now, diamond-studded masks are also catching the eye of the netizens. A jewellery shop in Surat, Gujarat is selling these masks, that cost between ₹1.5 lakhs and ₹4 lakhs. The owner of the shop, Dipak Choksi, came up with this unique idea. To create these luxury masks, pure diamond and American diamond have been used with gold. Read on to know the details.
Diamond-Studded Masks For The Bride And Groom
As per ANI reports, speaking about the masks, Choksi said, “As the lockdown was lifted, a customer who had a wedding at his home came to our shop and demanded unique masks for the bride and groom. So, we assigned our designers to create masks that the customer bought later.” Another customer, who had visited the shop to buy jewellery for a family wedding, saw these masks and bought one matching with her dress. The cloth material of these masks is as per the government guidelines regarding protective gear.
There were mixed reactions on the internet about these masks. Some people expressed delight, while some others thought them to be a ‘waste of money’.

Other Quirky Masks
Kunal Pariyani, a cloth store owner in Bhopal, Madya Pradesh has created masks with lips and noses of PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Kamal Nath and Shivraj Singh Chouhan printed on them. The cost of these masks ranges from ₹80 to ₹100. Also, Israeli inventors have designed face masks for ‘eating out’ amid the coronavirus pandemic. A scuba diving group based in California was recycling ocean plastics into face masks.
