Shilpa Shetty Turns Vegetarian; Here Are 10 Other Celebs That Have Done The Same

Shilpa Shetty is one of the fittest actors in Bollywood. She is a multi-talented woman who never fails to impress as well as encourage us. She has been into yoga since many years, and have been teaching the same. She also owns a Youtube channel where she posts food recipes. One thing we always wanted to learn about her was what she eats to maintain that perfect body. And now, she recently took to her instagram account for a personal announcement that she has now turned a vegetarian.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra has turned a vegetarian. Being from a Mangalorean family, fish and meat have been her diet staples for the longest time. So it was a hard and overwhelming decision for her to take, but also an important one. Speaking about the reasons for the switch, Shilpa Shetty wrote, “The shift happened gradually and now, I have accepted vegetarianism completely. I wanted to reduce my carbon footprint, and I’ve realised that how cultivating livestock for food may have increased sources of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous-oxide emissions, further responsible for climate change.” On that note, From Washing Vessels To Sweeping, Here’s What Our Celebs Are Upto During This Lockdown

Ahh! My ultimate dream, to grow my own, but for now… I have something to share. Since I’ve shared many milestones here, this is something… that’s a very personal choice, a hard decision for me; seemed impossible at one time, but it felt like a ‘calling’ of sorts. The shift happened gradually and NOW, I have accepted vegetarianism completely. Primarily, because I wanted to reduce my carbon footprint in the environment. Over the years, I’ve realised that cultivating livestock for food, has not only destroyed forests but also been the largest sources of carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous-oxide emissions. These are majorly responsible for the climate change our planet is experiencing. Also, following a vegetarian diet is not only beneficial for animals, but also can actually protect us from heart disease, diabetes, obesity, can improve & also reverse cardiovascular health, and some major diseases. It’s the best change for OUR health and the health of the PLANET. So, to give back to nature as best as I can, here’s a choice I’ve made for myself. Given my roots (Mangalorean), our diet always comprised of certain elements, meals would often feel incomplete without fish/ chicken as they became habits, then becoming an addiction. But ever since I adopted Yoga as a way of life, I always felt incomplete. I needed to step up… 45 years into this journey of life, and I’ve finally made the switch. In the past, being a hardcore non-vegetarian, even my YouTube channel has a lot of non-vegetarian recipes! I WON’T be deleting any of those, as they have been shot but going forward I WILL be focusing mainly on the vegetarian recipes. You all are and have been my extended family & my well-wishers for so many years, hence keeping you posted, about this important step. Every CHOICE has a CONSEQUENCE, make sure you make the right one ? With Gratitude, Shilpa Shetty Kundra ❤️??? . . . . #SwasthRahoMastRaho #vegetarian #gratitude #health #planet #change #choice #eatclean #mondaymotivation

? What I was able to learn, understand and know during the period of this Lockdown , I was unable to learn, understand and know, during my entire 78 years .. and to be able to express this truth , is the result of this learning, understanding and knowing !!?

Every dark cloud had a silver lining. And this time, while it may seem like the worst time and in so many ways it actually is, has also forcefully made us all stop and deal with things we might have been running away from because either we were ‘busy’ or it was convenient to say we were 'busy'. If this time is respected for what it is, it will enable more light to shine through. This time has also made us all realise what's truly important. For me just having food, water and a roof over my head and the good health of my family seems MOST important. Everything else is a bonus that I bow my head in gratitude for. But, that which we call 'basic' is not so basic for everyone after looking at all the people who struggle for just those few things. My prayers with them and their families. May everyone be safe and secure. This time has surely made me more reflective. This need to stay at home with your loved ones has been forced upon the entire world but there is a deep lesson for us all. There is a lesson to strive for work and life balance ( I've valued and strived for this dearly for many years now ), there is a lesson to devote more time in things that actually matter. Today, when I'm surrounded by all the blessings in my life, I just want to tell everyone how much compassion I feel for everyone who I see suffer. I want to help as many possible in the best of my abilities. I feel pride in our resilience to be better human beings. I can instinctively feel this in and around me. We will all have our individual and subjective lessons from this time and hopefully, such lessons will continuously stay with us all.
